Part one: Eric Bibb Duo
Eric Bibb is the embodiment of the new generation of acoustic blues players. Although he grew up in New York, he was never inspired by the aural aggressiveness of New York City Blues. Descending from a hereditary line of first rate black musicians, he draws his inspiration from the earliest musical roots of the genre. In his World, the respect of musical tradition is happily married with a resolutely modern inspiration. His beautifully nuanced voice is superbly highlighted by his carefree and jazzy guitar playing. His mastery of the picking technique allows his guitar to take on the aspect of a mini orchestra into which the drumming of Larry Crockett finds its natural place. Eric Bibb is a singer-guitarist who has certainly carved out his own niche amongst the bluesmen of today.

Part two: Louis Bertignac "Power Trio"
Louis Bertignac is the former axeman from the hugely popular 80s French rock group Telephone. Louis is a complete musician with many strings to his bow. Aside from his singing talents, he is also a composer and music arranger who provided his talents for Carla Bruni’s album Qulqu’un m’a dit which he also produced and that went on to sell two million copies. His multiple projects in recent times had clearly engulfed this guitar hero Made In France and some were starting to wonder whether Bertignac on stage had become a thing of the past. Fortunately, he’s an artist who is not able to go without his audience and fan base for too long; so he is back on the road with his Power Trio, completed with bassist Cyril Denis and drummer Sylvain Joasson in the ranks. What they sound like certainly pays homage to the two idols of Bertignac’s youth: Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix and past experience has shown that there is a total complicity between these three musicians and the fun they have onstage is effectively communicated to the audience. The repertoire is rich and varied ranging from the beautifully melancholic (penned by Carla Bruni) to full out rock complete with solos and improvisation, played on his old Gibson with its ever distinctive sound. Every concert is a different experience as some of the songs are played following requests from the audience, which in itself shows the level of interaction the band likes to encourage in a live situation – an aspect of the show that is likely to be heightened by the already warm atmosphere that emanates from the ‘Theatre de la Verdure’.
