Part one: Bjørn Berge
With his ‘hardcore, heavy metal maniac’ physical appearance, this thirty seven year old Norwegian plays an unexpectedly and joyously wacky, funky blues. Bjorn Berge takes total control of the stage as soon as he swaggers upon it and then proceeds to set fire to it with his slide guitar, his super powerful voice and his amplified plank of wood which he vigorously stamps on, thus providing a unique rhythm section. His music is clearly rooted in the Delta blues but you can’t keep Mr. Berge in a cage. His cover versions of “Give it away” (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), “Ace of Spades” (Motorhead) or “Keep it Greasy” (Zappa) need to be heard to be believed. The audience who had the good fortune of seeing this man last year in Patrimonio are probably still wondering how one man and a guitar was able to make such a thundering impact that night. In brief, you really don’t want to miss this.

Part two : Sean Lennon
Sean Lennon is the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono and the physical resemblance is striking. But that is where the resemblance stops. Sean Lennon is a good example of what you should do when you are the offspring of parents that go beyond famous. What you do is you keep your head down, discretely collaborate with various musicians for some eight years (including Lenny Kravitz), find your own musical direction, maturity and identity and then hit people on the head with a cracking album in the shape of 2006’s Friendly Fire - acclaimed by critics and public alike. On that disc one finds melodies that are powerful yet airy and dreamlike and the absence of studio effects provides the sort of natural sound one started to think would never be heard again, what with the vast array of technology on offer in today’s studios. On stage Sean Lennon will take you on a beautiful journey, aided by a voice not so different to his father’s (hey, who’s complaining?). The punters in Patrimonio on that evening will discover a highly moving performer, void of any artifice; and although Beatles fans are liable to get a little nostalgic, it will also be clear to all present that this is an artist in his own right, with his own message.
